(Las Vegas, NV) — In 2013, the population of Clark County is expected to reach two million. State Demographer Jeff Hardcastle told KXNT that Nevada’s 2012 population has reached 2,750,285 and will jump to 3,043,607 in 2020.
The county was expected to top two million back in 2006 before the recession, but the figure never was eclipsed. In 2031, the county population should be nearly 2.5 million.
Hardcastle told KXNT where the numbers will come from. “A good part of that population growth will come from natural increase over time, which means births exceeding deaths.
Over the past two years over ten thousand people left Nevada, but 40,ooo births offset the decrease.
