SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Police say the home of Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane was burglarized after someone broke in through the master bedroom and stole more than $10,000 worth of jewelry.
The Arizona Republic reports that Scottsdale police said the crime occurred Friday afternoon.
According to a police report, 10 pieces of jewelry valued at $10,100, including a $7,000 gold wedding ring with sapphires and diamonds, were stolen.
Police said a glass sliding door in the master bedroom was shattered.
Lane’s chief of staff, J.P. Twist, said Lane preferred to keep the matter private and had no comment.
No arrests have been made.
