Las Vegas – The Rebels came into Saturday’s game 1-8 on the season, losing their last five games, in desperate need of a win and they pulled it off. UNLV scored the first 21 points of the game and held on to beat New Mexico 35-7.
Freshman Quarterback Nick Sherry finished the game with 289 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The big story for the Rebels was the ground game putting up 241 yards and three touchdowns. Bradley Randle led the way with 113 yards and 2 touchdowns, Tim Cornett finished the game with 107 yards and a touchdown.
The Rebels are now 2-8 on the season and 2 and 3 in the Mountain West, they’re back on the road next week to face Colorado St. in For Collins.
