(Las Vegas, NV) – Clark County’s coroner’s inquest process could soon be back on track.
The “Review-Journal” says Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani wants to remove a provision where justices of the peace oversee hearings on officer-involved shooting deaths. Last week, the Nevada Supreme Court struck down that portion of the code.
The inquest process was revised in 2010, but 17 police-involved death cases are on hold due to legal challenges.
