(Las Vegas, NV)  —  A growing number of Las Vegas Valley residents are ditching the car for a more environmentally-friendly way to get to work.

The Regional Transportation Commission says nearly 5500 people have signed up for Club Ride since the start of 2012.

About 26,000 commuters are enrolled in the program, which works with employers to encourage the use of car pools, public transit, walking and biking to get to work.

The RTC says Club Ride has helped improve air quality by reducing pollutants generated from single-car commuting.

You can sign up for Club Ride at www.rtcsnv.com.
