THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS HAS ISSUED A FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MINOR FLOODING OF URBAN AREAS IN…   CENTRAL CLARK COUNTY IN SOUTHERN NEVADA…

* UNTIL 415 PM PDT THURSDAY

* AT 811 AM PDT…SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHERN NEVADA PRODUCING MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL. STORMS WILL GENERALLY PRODUCE BETWEEN .25 TO .50 INCHES OF RAIN WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE WITH THE STRONGEST CELLS. THERE WILL BE OCCASIONAL BREAKS BETWEEN STORMS…BUT SCATTERED STORMS ARE EXPECTED FOR MUCH OF THE AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT. THIS SHOULD RESULT IN SOME PONDING OF WATER OF AREA ROADS…ESPECIALLY IN LOW LYING OR POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

IF TRAVELING…BE ALERT TO THE POSSIBILITY OF WATER ON THE ROADWAY. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD. TURN AROUND…DONT DROWN!
