(Las Vegas, NV)  –  The two major candidates for Nevada’s new Fourth Congressional District met face-to-face in their first debate.

Republican Danny Tarkanian and Democrat Steven Horsford took part yesterday in the televised debate on the “Ralston Reports” program.  At times, it became nasty.

Horsford called the son of former UNLV basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian a “self-proclaimed crazy radical” who would cut Medicare.  Danny Tarkanian blamed the former state Senate majority leader for Nevada’s high jobless rate.

Two more debates are scheduled for the candidates.
