(Las Vegas, NV) — Numbers from the firm Core-Logic show home prices in Las Vegas climbed 8 and a half percent in August compared to a year ago. Core-Logic says home sales overall this year are up 4-and a half percent from a year ago. On the negative side, though, was CoreLogic’s finding that Nevada home prices as of June remained 57.1 percent below their pre-recession peak, the nation’s steepest decline. Home prices nationally as of June, including distressed sales, remained 28.8 percent below where they were in April 2006.
