(Las Vegas, NV)  —  Yet another new Sin City-based TV drama makes its debut tonight.  “Vegas” is a period piece set in the 1960’s, when the city’s rancher-turned Sheriff Ralph Lamb deals with crime in the fast-growing gaming city.

Randy Quaid plays Lamb, who served as sheriff of Las Vegas from 1961 through 1979.  Michael Chiklis co-stars as casino owner and mobster Vincent Sabino.

The real Ralph Lamb is being honored at a fund-raiser and viewing party to help injured police officers.

“Vegas” premieres tonight at 10 on CBS.
