(Las Vegas, NV) — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is scheduled to make his sixth campaign stop in Nevada since April with an appearance at UNLV.

The Romney rally is scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday at the Cox Pavilion sports arena and is open to the public, with free tickets available online at Romney’s campaign website.

The former Massachusetts governor has been trying this week to blunt criticism about remarks he made during a May fundraiser in Florida.

He told wealthy campaign donors he couldn’t count on votes from 47 percent of Americans who don’t pay income taxes and believe they are entitled to government help. A fundraiser at the Red Rock Resort will preceed the rally on the campus of UNLV.
