Many Nevadans Exhaust Unemployment Benefits
(Carson City, NV) — Plenty of unemployed Nevadans have run out of benefits.
The state Department of Employment says just 22% of jobless workers in the Silver State now get weekly checks. That’s down from the 50% mark reached during the height of the recession.
Nevada’s unemployment rate in July rose to 12%.
Since May 2010, the Silver State has had the highest jobless rate in the nation.
