NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins says he’s glad his neighbor wasn’t more seriously hurt after a bull escaped from his North Las Vegas property and police shot it with tranquilizer darts.
The woman ended up with several stitches in her chin and Collins a misdemeanor citation after the bull got loose at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Collins told the Las Vegas Sun he was out of town. He says the woman, who didn’t want her name disclosed, knows how to handle livestock and was using a stick to try to coral him but the bull pinned her against Collins’ house.
The “livestock at large” citation carries up to six months in jail and $1,000 fine.
Collins also was cited last month for disturbing the peace and unlawful discharge of a weapon.
