Henderson, NV (AP) — A 36-year-old woman has been charged with murder in the strangling death of her boyfriend at their Henderson residence in May.
Tammy Lucero was booked into the Henderson jail Thursday, almost three months after her 35-year-old boyfriend David Hudson was found dead May 24 near Lake Mead Parkway and Boulder Highway. She is set to appear in court on Wednesday.
Police say Lucero arrived at a hospital telling a nurse she had choked Hudson with a cord after he attacked her.
She told authorities Hudson beat her and threatened her and her family.
In a report, neighbors told police they regularly heard the couple fighting about pills.
Police say Hudson was arrested earlier this year on domestic battery charges. Lucero has been arrested in the past on drug charges.
Lucero is currently being held in the Henderson jail. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 22.
