(Las Vegas, NV) — A federal report says there were several problems at the northwest valley facility where two chimps escaped last month.
An inspector with the USDA found a number of concerns, including a lack of proper vet care and an enclosure that was not structurally sound and needed repair. The USDA will decide if there were any violations.
One of the chimps, “Buddy,” was shot and killed by police while crossing a residential street. The other, “C.J.” is being transferred to an Oregon sanctuary.
A “going away” block party for “C.J.” is scheduled for August 25th.
