Las Vegas -UNLV football is hard at work at Rebel Park as they gear up for the 2012 season that kicks off in less than 20 days, when they host the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Sam Boyd Stadium on Wednesday August 30th. Before the Rebels battle the Golden Gophers they’ll head to Ely for their annual off-site football camp, leaving on Sunday and returning on August 22nd. The Rebels play the first four games at home as part of a 13 game schedule that culminates on November 24th in Hawaii. UNLV is coming off back to back disappointing seasons winning only 4 games out of 26.

This year posses a new problem for third year head coach Bobby Hauck, besides trying to win more than two games, Coach Hauck first has to figure out who to start at quarterback. Last year sophomore Caleb Herring and junior college transfer Sean Reilly split time taking snaps with Caleb getting the majority, this year red shirt freshman Nick Sherry has been thrown into the mix. Coach Hauck says it’s too early to call but really likes what he sees so far from Sean Reilly.
