(Las Vegas, NV) — A man fell to his death just after 12:30pm from the Hoover Dam bypass bridge where authorities attempted to try and talk him out of jumping.

A Bureau of Reclamation spokeswoman arrived at the O’Callaghan-Tillman Memorial Bridge  around 10:30 and subsequently the bridge was closed as a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. specialist was called to the scene.

A Tweet from NDOT said the roads were open again around 1:15 pm.

The Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge is the highest and longest concrete-arch bridge in the Western Hemisphere.
