Washington Nationals rookie Bryce Harper won’t be a part of the Home Run Derby this year in Kansas City. National League Home Run Derby captain Matt Kemp told “USA Today” he won’t select the 19-year-old to be on the team, adding that Harper will have plenty of time to take part in future events and that there are other players that are capable of taking a spot on the roster. Kemp also said that his decision has nothing to do with Harper being a rookie.
