(Washington, DC) — The wife of Congressman Joe Heck collected unemployment after her husband was elected to the House.
“Politico” reports Lisa Heck lost her job as a nurse for a medical training and consulting firm, which her husband dissolved after he won his congressional seat in 2010. She then applied for and collected jobless benefits for a time last year.
Nevada Democrats say Lisa Heck was fired by her husband, and should not have applied for unemployment.
In a statement, the Republican Congressman said his wife was no different from others who lost their jobs and qualified for assistance.
