Electric Daisy Carnival
Las Vegas, Nevada – The final night of the 16th Annual Electric Daisy Carnival came to a close with 115,000 fans dancing beneath the desert sky at the fully transformed Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Truly a 360-degree carnival experience, the evening featured extended pyrotechnics displays on each stage, an additional fireworks show, impromptu theatrical performances throughout the crowd and a full evening of world-class music.
EDC also played the setting to a another new beginning tonight, as character Nigel Ficke wed a young couple as the night’s fireworks display erupted in the distance.
Over 300 thousand spectators enjoyed the festival while over $130 million was pumped into the local economy.
Unfortunately, just before the festival ended A 31-year-old male from Florida was hit by a Mesquite woman driving a pickup near the Las Vegas Speedway.
According to Trooper Loy Hixson of the Nevada Highway Patrol, the man was attempting to cross Las Vegas Boulevard when the woman driving a pickup traveling southbound struck him.
The man is in critical condition at UMC Trauma.
