RENO, Nev. (AP) — President Barack Obama plans to meet with an undisclosed family in Reno when he visits on Friday to give a speech about the economy.
The White House isn’t releasing any details but confirmed in a statement Wednesday that the president will meet privately with a local family while in town to deliver remarks urging Congress to act on a series of proposals he says enjoy bipartisan support and will help create jobs.
The White House says that includes initiatives to cut red tape so homeowners who have been paying their mortgages on time can refinance at today’s lower rates.
Nevada has one of the highest mortgage delinquency rates in the nation at about 11 percent.
