Teen Headed To Prison Speaks Out
(Las Vegas, NV) – A 19-year-old who was sentenced to up to life in prison in the March 2011 killing of a West Wendover High School classmate is speaking out from an Elko jail.
Toni Fratto is interviewed by Anderson Cooper in an episode set to air Friday afternoon on his talk show, “Anderson.”
Asked why she hit 16-year-old Micaela “Mickey” Costanzo with a shovel, Fratto says her then-boyfriend Kody Patten told her to “just do it, it’s OK.”
She says she was terrified and didn’t know what to do.
Her mother says Fratto was a victim in an abusive relationship with Patten.
Patten’s lawyer, John Ohlson, didn’t immediately respond to a message left Friday.
Fratto pleaded guilty to second-degree murder with a deadly weapon. She agreed to testify against Patten at his trial.
