(Las Vegas, NV) — Clark County’s coroner’s inquest process is set to resume later this week. On Thursday, a citizen’s panel will determine if Nevada Highway Patrol troopers were justified in the deadly August 2010 tasering of 21-year-old Eduardo Lopez-Hernandez on U.S. 95.
Changes to the inquest process, including the use of an ombudsman for the family of the person killed, has led law enforcement officials to fight the new rules in court. Five NHP officers have asked the Nevada Supreme Court to stop this week’s inquest.
KXNT will update the story as more details become available.
