(Las Vegas, NV)  —  The latest round of competitive eating will be held this weekend on the Las Vegas Strip.  Hopefuls from the West Coast will take part in Sunday’s qualifying round of the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog eating contest at the New York-New York hotel.  The top man and woman will go on to the finals this Fourth of July at New York’s Coney Island.  Last year, men’s winner Joey Chestnut scarfed down 62 dogs with buns in just ten minutes.  The top woman, Sonya Thomas, wasn’t far behind with 40 franks.
