(Las Vegas, NV)  —  Passengers on Allegiant Air will now pay to stow their carry-on bags.  Starting tomorrow, the Las Vegas-based airline will allow one free piece that can fit under the seat, such as a laptop or briefcase.  Larger bags and more than one item will cost an additional $35 per flight.  Allegiant already charges fees for reserving tickets over the phone, early boarding, and food on flights.

When does the GREED stop? We told a freind coming to LV to use Allegiant – his ticket just went up $70. And we have three round-trip tickets with Allegaint, there’s another $210 – guess we’ll have to spend more time now checking alternatives….

Love it …I’m so tired of getting hit in the head and bruised body parts from all the carry ons! Charge for carry on …reduce fee for checked bags. AND…if you can’t “fit” in one seat and have to have your body parts spilling over on top of me ….then you require 2 seats ….the airline should charge 1/2 fare for the adjacent seat …you have plenty of room ….and so do I!

Great idea! You can’t get off the plane for people blocking the aisle to get their luggage from the overhead ben. Great thinking.
