An NDOT project that will cost $240 million will begin on Wednesday. Commuters who use Interstate 15 southbound to gain access to the 215 westbound will now to do so from Russell Road. The access road will then take you 1.5 miles to the 215. Commuters can go either westbound or eastbound on the 215 from the access road.
NDOT Engineer Jason Voigt told KXNT why the project was needed.”One of the goals of the project was to reduce all the merging and weaving, especially southbound at the 215.”
The Express lanes will open up at Tropicana rather than Russell once the project begins. The restriping will take place prior to Wednesday.
