OJ Simpson Robbery Victim Fined in Shoplifting Case
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A victim in the O.J. Simpson armed robbery case pleaded no contest to misdemeanor petty theft for taking a video game and a briefcase from the Nellis Air Force Base military exchange last year.
Bruce Fromong was ordered to pay a $350 fine and $140 restitution. He said outside court Monday that he doesn’t recall pilfering items Oct. 2 and Nov. 4.
But he says store videotape clearly shows him committing the thefts. The videos weren’t made public.
Fromong says he was under the influence of a bad combination of pain medications.
The judge says that if Fromong stays out of trouble for a year, the case will be dismissed.
Simpson is serving prison time for robbing Fromong and another man in 2007 in a Las Vegas casino hotel room.
