SkyVue, which will be the largest observation wheel in the Western Hemisphere and third largest in the world when it opens July 4, 2013 will begin to take shape Thursday. Located across from Mandalay Bay, SkyVue will tower 500 feet above the famed Las Vegas Strip and feature 32, 24-person gondolas and offer two HD LED Multi Media displays at the center of the wheel, each measuring 50,000 square feet. Visible from across the Las Vegas Valley, SkyVue is destined to become an iconic entertainment and retail destination for Las Vegas visitors and residents. The 500-foot iconic attraction will feature 32 climate-controlled gondolas and the world’s largest HD LED Multi Media board, which will be 50 thousand square feet. The project will also include 20,000 square feet of convention space and 200,000 square feet of retail space, dining and entertainment options. During construction, 700 jobs will be available and once it opens, Skyvue will employ 500 people.
