Three children are fighting for their lives at University Medical Center after suffering smoke inhalation from a fire in their apartment at 1825 Lewis Ave. Las Vegas fire investigators believe the children were playing with a lighter or matches which started the fire. When firefighters made their way inside the apartment they found one room damaged from the fire. They were able to put the fire out almost immediately and then quickly noticed all three children and removed them from the scene. The children, ages three (boy/girl twins) and five were unresponsive. There were no adults on scene until the mother showed up a few minutes later and told investigators there was supposed to be a babysitter inside the apartment. There is no update on the condition of the kids.
