(Las Vegas) – McCarran Airport is ready for the busy Thanksgiving weekend. An estimated 630,000 passengers expected to pass through the airport between now and Monday, with about 120,000 of those on the day before Thanksgiving. However, McCarran spokesman Chris Jones says the busiest days of the Thanksgiving period will likely be Sunday and Monday, when all of the holiday travelers return from their destinations. Jones added that because Las Vegas isn’t a major Thanksgiving travel destination, McCarran isn’t typically as busy during this week as it is during other times of the year, such as New Years or the Consumer Electronics Show in January. Nevertheless, the airport is busier than usual over the next few days, so whether flying out of town or expecting arrivals, be sure to plan ahead. Jones recommends checking tsa.gov to find out the rules about what can be packed into your luggage, check mccarran.com for aiport info and flight status, and call McCarran’s parking hotline at 261-5122 for info on which parking lots are full.
