LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials say motorists are going to face traffic snarls on busy Interstate 15 near the Las Vegas Strip during a freeway resurfacing project scheduled to last up to six weeks.
The Nevada Department of Transportation says the $6 million project starts Sunday night and will run until late October.
It’ll use crumbled recycled tires as a paving material.
Officials say plans call for lane closures, and delays are expected from Tropicana Avenue to the U.S. 95 Spaghetti Bowl interchange.
Officials say nearby arterial streets may also be clogged.
Plans call for reduced exit and entrance ramp access during the work, and for officials to adjust signal timing patterns to alleviate congestion.
Travel time information is expected to be posted on message signs.
