LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police are looking into foul play after a young woman’s body was found in the northwestern Las Vegas Valley during a search for a missing teenage girl.
Two people on foot found the burned body Saturday night in a vacant lot near U.S. Route 95 at Oso Blanca Road and Grand Teton Drive.
Police on Monday are not saying whether the body belongs to 15-year-old Alyssa Otremba, who was reported missing Friday night. KSNV-TV reports Otremba sent her mother a text message saying her cell phone was dying and she was walking home on Grand Teton Drive.
The girl reportedly said she would be home in 30 minutes but never returned.
Detectives are urging members of the public to share any information they have about the incident.
