Las Vegas – To remind the community that September is National Preparedness Month, Clark County’s Office of Emergency Management is offering tips to help residents be prepared in the case of a disaster.
Create an emergency disaster kit that contains items to sustain your family’s basic needs for up to two weeks. Non-perishable food and water is a must for your emergency kit. Also be sure to include necessities such as medications, food for pets, and supplies for infants. Other helpful items might be flashlights with extra batteries as well as a radio. Make sure your kit is periodically updated to fit your family’s needs. Develop a plan among your family members and employees by designating evacuation routes and a meeting place.
