Around 4am this morning, fire broke out in two story home on Giles Street, just south of Silverado Ranch Boulevard and east of Las Vegas Boulevard. Four engines and about 30 firefighters responded to the blaze. The house was vacant and borded up.
According to Scott Webster, Clark County Fire Battalion Fire Chief, crews had a big issue with water supply because the house is in an outlying area, about 3000 feet from the nearest water supply. Beacuse of that, there was some delay in getting water to the scene as they had to bring it in from other sources.
There were no injuries reported. Damage to the home was extensive. The cause is under investigation.
