LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are identifying the two officers involved in a shooting that left a 23-year-old man dead.
Officer Christopher Grivas and Officer David Hager fired at Rafael Olivas July 14 in Las Vegas after he reportedly approached them with a butcher knife and ignored their calls to stop.
Grivas is 30 years old and Hager is 33. Both were hired in June 2005.
Police say the shooting happened while officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call just before 7 a.m. last Thursday.
A woman told police she was having an argument with her son.
The Clark County coroner’s office says Olivas died of a penetrating gunshot wound to the chest
