Sheriff Speaks On DNA Error In 2001 Case

LAS VEGAS (CBS) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has discovered a DNA mistake that sent a man to prison for a robbery 10 years ago.

According to Metro, the forensic lab found that the accidental switching of DNA samples incorrectly identified then 18-year-old Dwayne Jackson as the suspect who committed the crime. Jackson served four years in prison and was released in 2006.

Jackson was arrested for robbery and kidnapping a woman and her children and forcing the woman to take money from her ATM.
