LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada’s newly elected Republican chairwoman Amy Tarkanian says the state party must raise more cash, recruit competitive candidates and increase voter turnout.

Tarkanian said in a conference call with reporters Thursday that such efforts will help the GOP better compete in the 2012 elections.

The GOP leader was elected earlier this month. She replaces former state Sen. Mark Amodei, who is running for a northern Nevada congressional seat.

Tarkanian says state Republicans are working with Asian and Hispanic leaders to build support for GOP candidates in minority communities.

Nevada is scheduled to hold the third presidential nomination contest in the nation in February.

Suing to disenfranchise voters so you can ‘select’ a RINO to run for office costs money and does not encourage donations.
Will the republican party ever get back to it’s root principles?
