“We are thrilled to welcome one of the nation’s most successful low-fare airlines to San Diego International Airport,” said Airport Authority Board Chair Robert Gleason. “Spirit Airlines will give travelers more choices for making the trip between San Diego and Las Vegas, and this convenient new service is bound to benefit tourism in both cities. The arrival of Spirit Airlines underscores the Airport Authority’s ongoing commitment to enhancing air service for the San Diego region.”
“Spirit Airlines adds to the spirit of value and quality in air service, and we look forward to their arrival at San Diego International Airport in the fall,” said Airport Authority President/CEO Thella Bowens. “San Diego and Las Vegas are two of the most exciting destinations in the southwestern U.S., and Spirit Airlines will help connect them as never before.”
“One year ago, Spirit Airlines was operating four departures a day to two destinations from Las Vegas. Spirit Airlines continues to expand service to bring great value but more importantly, additional seats to the Las Vegas market. We are very proud of our partnership and the announced additions to Spirit’s schedule which are good for the Las Vegas valley and great for its passengers,” says Elaine Sanchez, Public Affairs & Marketing Manager, McCarran International Airport.
