A Las Vegas family held a fundraiser Saturday night for the prospect of finding any new information regarding the killing of their loved one, 22-year-old Michael Portaro.
Two months ago, Portaro was outside the Tenaya Creek Brewery trying to sell concert tickets when a man in a black hoodie shot and killed him.
His family earlier this month raised the reward to $30,000 for information that leads to the killer’s conviction. Additionally Crime Stoppers is offering a $2000 incentive if they provide assistance with the Metropolitan Police Department’s investigation. All proceeds from Saturday’s fundraiser will be added to the reward.
Portaro, a 2006 graduate of Faith Lutheran was described as a light to the world. He would have been 23 on May 25th.
So far the brewery has raised about $2,000. If you have any information that could help solve this case call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
