(Carson City,NV) — Legislative Democrats will present their own budget plan for the state today. The “Las VegasSun” says it will generate one-point-five-billion dollars over the next two years for education and social services.
Democrats will propose changing the way businesses pay taxes, and allow tax increases approved in 2009 to continue. There would also be a small sales tax on services, but the tax on goods would be cut by one percent.
The Democrat plan is expected to face opposition from Republicans and Governor Brian Sandoval, who has vowed to veto any tax increase.
