Police say an armed man tried to scoop up poker chips, but dropped them and ran when he was confronted by a casino employee during a botched robbery overnight at a Las Vegas casino.

No shots were fired, no injuries were reported and the would-be robber escaped with nothing in the daring heist a little after midnight Wednesday at the Stratosphere casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

It was the third casino chip robbery in three months in Las Vegas.

A son of a local judge is facing trial in a December robbery from the Bellagio resort, and a taxi driver was arrested but a man identified as the bandit remains a fugitive in a February heist at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino.
