(Carson City, NV) — A state lawmaker has offered a plan to help fund Nevada’s state parks. North Las Vegas state Senator John Lee wants to increase vehicle registration rates by three dollars to offset falling revenues for more than two dozen state parks. In exchange, everyone would get into the parks for free.
But critics say the plan is nothing more than a tax increase for those who don’t use the parks. Governor Brian Sandoval has proposed cutting funds for state parks by more than half over the next two years.
