Legislative Democrats plan to introduce a bill on Monday they say will help provide jobs for construction workers.  The “Nevada Jobs First” legislation would require companies who get state and local public work contracts to have at least 50-percent of their workers live in Nevada.

Vehicles mainly used on the job must be registered in the Silver State, while at least 25-percent of all materials for the job must be purchased in Nevada.

Democrats, who hold majorities in both houses in the Legislature, say the “Jobs First” package is just part of a series of job creation measures the party will roll out during this year’s session.

I am sure that the Legislators know that this is a violation of the Commerce Clause of the Constitution, but who cares, makes good headlines
