Former Nevada U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle is keeping her distance from a new Tea Party political group. In December, the former Reno assemblywoman announced she would lend her name to the Patriot Caucus Political Action Committee, and a donor list she compiled during her unsuccessful bid to defeat Senator Harry Reid. But the “Review-Journal” reports Angle is stepping back from the group. In a statement, Angle said she had, quote, “originally lent my name to this PAC to help them start up so they could assist in organizing Tea Party efforts.” Angle now says the PAC is off to a good start and she is, quote, “not now involved in their decision-making processes.” The conservative Republican remains coy about her political ambitions. During a trip to Iowa last month, Angle said she had not ruled out a presidential run.
