One lawmaker claims Governor Brian Sandoval is breaking his “no new taxes” pledge.  The “Review-Journal” says Sandoval plans to eliminate the Senior Citizen’s Property Assistance program, which provides 17-thousand Nevada seniors with an average check of 335-dollars.  Reno Assemblyman David Bobzien claims the cut would mean higher property taxes for older people, a claim that was echoed by the head of the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada.  The governor’s spokeswoman, Mary-Sarah Kinner, calls the property assistance program, quote, “a welfare subsidy that the state can no longer afford.”
