Ground crews at the Kennedy Space Center have completed repairs on two leaks that were found inside one of the thruster pods on Space Shuttle Discovery, clearing the way for it to launch on Wednesday.
On its final flight before retirement, Discovery is carrying a six-member team on an eleven-day mission to the International Space Station. The forecast remains the biggest obstacle to this week’s launch. The shuttle weather officer estimates a 70-percent chance of acceptable conditions. Liftoff is set for 3:52 Eastern time Wednesday afternoon.
