Sony is stopping production of its portable cassette player, the Walkman.
Walkmans were introduced in 1979 and became the must-have gadget for people who wanted to enjoy music on the go privately. However, time has passed the cassette player by as more people opt for MP3 players. More than 200-million Walkman units have been sold. Sony will continue to produce CD and mini-disc Walkman units for the time being.
