Tiger Talks About Divorce
Tiger Woods spoke to the media today for the first time since his divorce was finalized. The world’s number one golfer addressed reporters ahead of the Barclays tournament in Paramus, New Jersey. He said the welfare of his two children is paramount now that he’s officially divorced. Woods also wished his ex-wife Elin Nordegren the best and admitted that his actions led to the divorce. He added that the 2010 season has not been a lost year despite his failure to win a golf event, because he has learned a lot about himself that will help him become a better person. Woods and Noregren jointly announced their divorce on Monday, saying only that they plan to share custody of the children and wishing each other well. The Barclays, which takes place this weekend, is the first of four tournaments in the PGA Tour’s version of the playoffs, the FedEx Cup. Woods is the defending FedEx Cup champion, but his only 112th in this year’s cup standings. He will be among the first group to tee off for the start of the tournament on Thursday morning.
