“Rumors” by Neil Simon was written as a farce while Simon was going through his own personal troubles. The play revolves around a couple attending a 10th anniversary party of the Deputy Mayor of New York and his wife. Shots are heard and someone is wounded as more guests arrive for the party. The plot explores what is perceived rather than facts using dark humor and how people accept what is said rather than trusting their own experience.
