From classes for kids and adults in world dance — including ballet, tap, contemporary, hip-hop and interpretive movement — to musical theater, voice and more, this place was started by a performer who loved to teach and the standard is impeccable. From the top instructors who are motivated to help students be the best they can be. The parents literally have a “window” via viewing windows and live videos from dance rooms to watch their children’s progress. The students use a “green cleaning process” to keep them environmentally safe, clean and toxin-free. The first class is always free. Studio One’s Summerlin Dance Academy is ranked number one in Nevada and top 25 in the U.S. by the Federation of Dance Competitions.

Dmitry Zemkov is a graduate of the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow. He appeared as an award-winning principle dancer, choreographer and instructor for years, touring the world before settling in Las Vegas to teach. Not only is this the premier Russian dance school in Las Vegas but classes range from beginner to advanced selections for children and adults. The school offers ballet, pointe, pas de deux, jazz, tap and hip-hop, plus modern dance, musical theatre and gymnastics. There is a definite code of ethics that includes positivity, respect and professionalism. The dress code is enforced to allow students to focus upon instruction, not costume, and the professionalism extends to staff as well as the student. The focus of each class is on fun, learning, growth and development, whether dancing as a team member or individual.

A dancer’s body is their tool and in order to be their best, they not only have to learn their craft but also must be physically fit. Not only does Arabesque teach technique, but they also have fitness classes to enhance strength and flexibility. Their tap classes emphasize the relationship between sound and rhythm, with students learning Broadway and rhythm style tap dancing as well as focusing on performance. The uniform includes black or fuschia leotard or sports bra, jazz shorts or leggings and tap shoes. This is a fun learning experience in a professional setting with an emphasis on a healthy lifestyle and life-long learning.
