What a bizarre week it’s been for UFC fans. Early last week, featherweight champion Conor McGregor, arguably the sport’s brightest star, sent fans into a panic when he tweeted that he had decided to retire young. Then came news of him being pulled from the UFC 200 card for failure to fulfill contractual promotional obligations. A back and forth war of words ensued in the media as fight fans wondered whether McGregor would come back into the fold.

Now, it seems that the problems may have been worked out between the fighter and the company. Early this morning, McGregor tweeted from his account that he is back on the UFC 200 card and included a shoutout to both UFC president Dana White and UFC Chairman & CEO Lorenzo Fertitta.

After last week’s battle over the promotional schedule between McGregor and the top guys at the company it will be interesting to see how that will all shake out moving forward. There’s also the issue of no announcement having been made by either White or Fertitta as of this moment. So, while McGregor says he’s back on the card, fight fans will have to await the official announcement before getting too excited.
